mi inspiracon

Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel inspires me because she completely changed fashion. Chanel grew up in an orphanage at the age of 12 after her mom past and her father left the family.  She learned the trade of seamstress there and during vacation time her female relatives would spend time with her and taught her to sew.  At the age of 18 young Gabrielle left the orphanage with the ambition of becoming a singer in Moulin, France.  Though she failed to get steady work as a signer during her performance people started calling her "Coco" because of a song she use to sing, little did people know that her name would live forever in fashion.  In 1909 Coco started designing hats as a hobby, during this time she met Captain Arthur 'Boy' Chapel who not only financed Chanel's first shop in Paris but became lovers for 9 years.  Boy Chapel was never faithful to Coco. He married an English beauty in 1918 without breaking off with Chanel. In 1919 Boy Chapel died in an auto accident, this was the most devastating event in Chanel's life.  She decided never to get married even when it came to dating the Duke of Westminster she said and I quote, "There has been several Duchesses of Westminster.
There is only one Chanel."
